RAVE Alert System Announcement

August 8, 2024

Dear UOlivet Community,

UO is pleased to share that the RAVE Alert System, UO's new mobile emergency alert system, has been launched. RAVE is hosted by Eaton County 911 and is designed to quickly and efficiently communicate important information during emergencies. This system ensures that all members of our campus community receive timely updates in an emergency or urgent situation on campus.

All students, faculty and staff have been automatically enrolled in the RAVE Alert System. Alerts will be sent to your UOlivet email, mobile number on file, and staff desk phone extensions. You have the option to customize your notification preferences by following the steps outlined below under “Notification Settings.”

Upcoming System Test, Monday (8/12) Afternoon

To ensure the effectiveness of RAVE Alert and to familiarize yourself with incoming messages, a test will be conducted in the afternoon on Monday, August 12, 2024, between 2-4 p.m. During this test, you will receive a notification via the RAVE Alert System indicating a test is taking place. This is only a test, and no action is required on your part. You may receive a text message, phone call and/or UOlivet email, depending on the contact information we have on file for you.

IMPORTANT:

  1. If you want to change your preferences before the test, please download the Smart911 app or visit Smart911.com and follow the instructions listed below under "Notification Settings" to manage your account. Although your contact information was uploaded, you will need to create an account to manage your settings.
  2. If you do not receive a message via text, email and/or phone on Monday afternoon, take one of the following steps.
