Statement of Discrimination
Members of the University of Olivet Community have the right to be free from all forms of Sexual Harassment which impede the realization of the College’s mission of providing an education that enriches lives intellectually, morally, and spiritually to a diverse campus community. All members of the College Community are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that maintains an environment free from Sexual Harassment. As such, University of Olivet does not discriminate on the basis of sex, and is committed to providing an educational environment free from sex discrimination.
As a College of federal funding, the College is required to comply with Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972, 10 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (Title IX). Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex and Sexual Harassment — in educational programs and activities.

The University of Olivet Designated Officials to report a formal complaint to was updated on the last page of the policy. The policy is based on the 2020 regulations.
As of July 31, 2024, pursuant to Federal court orders, the OCR Department is currently enjoined from enforcing the 2024 Title IX Regulations. A list prepared by plaintiffs as ordered by the court identified Olivet as having such students. Pending further court orders, the OCR Department’s Title IX Regulations, as amended in 2020 (2020 Title IX Final Rule) remain in effect. The Title IX policy is attached.
