Mission and Overview
The University of Olivet Health and Wellness Center is dedicated to strengthening and supporting students across all dimensions of wellness so they can thrive academically, personally, and socially. Located in Room 212 of the Mott Academic Center, the Center serves as the campus hub for Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Services, and Wellness Services.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
Students may access mental health counseling and personal coaching to support personal growth, emotional well-being, and academic success. Services are provided by licensed professional counselors and trained peer-to-peer coaches.

Counseling and coaching can help students develop action plans, process life transitions, build coping skills, and navigate academic or personal challenges.

Students attending The University of Olivet are eligible for up to six free counseling and coaching sessions per semester at the Health and Wellness Center, depending on their needs and the treatment plan determined during the intake assessment. Students may also access two telemedicine stations in the Health and Wellness Center to maintain a therapeutic relationship with their home therapists in the privacy of the Center. Service referrals off campus are also available for students needing long-term treatment for mental health concerns. Insurance may be required for long-term mental health treatment, as free services do not cover these expenses.

To request an assessment, schedule an appointment, or learn more about Health and Wellness Center offerings, please email counseling@uolivet.edu. Students will receive a reply within 48 hours to schedule the initial appointment, including weekends.

In the event of a mental health emergency or the need for immediate support, please call the 24-hour crisis services hotline through Clinton-Eaton-Ingham Community Mental Health at 517-346-8318, located at 812 E. Jolly Rd., Lansing, MI, 48910, or text the word “Hello” to the National Crisis text line at 741741.

Collegiate Recovery Program
The Collegiate Recovery Program supports students in recovery from substance use disorders or those seeking to reduce the impact of addiction while pursuing academic and personal goals.

All students begin services with a free, confidential assessment. Students are eligible for up to six free counseling or coaching sessions per semester. Referrals for long-term care are available when needed.
